Dialogical Aspects of Obligationes

The Institute for Logic, Language, and Computation and the European Science Foundation are sponsoring a session on Dialogical Aspects of Obligationes at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds, July 2010:

Monday 12 July - 16.30-18.00

While there has been a lot of interest in recent decades in the medieval disputational framework of obligationes, a true understanding of their use and purpose is still elusive. In this session we focus on dialogical aspects of obligationes and connect them to contemporary research in dialogical logic and dialogue modelling in an attempt to shed light on the medieval framework.
