Everyone is cordially invited!<\/p>\n<p>Speaker:\u00a0<strong>Jan Sprenger<\/strong> (Tilburg University)<\/p>\n<p>Date and Time: Thursday, December 10th 2015, 16:00-17:30<\/p>\n<p>Venue: Science Park 107, Room F1.15<\/p>\n<p>Title: <strong>Foundations for a Theory of Causal Strength.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Abstract.<\/strong>\u00a0 Since more than 2,500 years, there has been research on the qualitative concept of causation (&#8220;Is X a cause of Y?&#8221;). The quantitative concept (&#8220;How strong is the causal link between X and Y?&#8221;) is much less understood. In this talk, I will provide axiomatic foundations for a probabilistic logic of causal strength.
